San Jose is the third-class municipality of Tarlac province. In this town you can see one of the popular tourist destinations Tarlakeños proud to offer
Go to barangay Lubigan at San Jose and you will find one of their popular tourist destination that everyone can go. At the top of the mountain range is a monastery a called Monasterio de Tarlac where the statue of Chrust and the True Relic Cross is also situated.

Travel time from Manila to Brgy. Lubigan, San Jose Tarlac is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. It is located at the heart of Tarlac Eco Tourism Park and expect a scenic view of greenery farm fields, mountain ranges and the typical "buhay probinsya", bahay kubo and farm animals.

We arrive at the area around 10:00 am, right time before the Sunday mass start at 10:30am.

There were so many people coming here aside from locals, some are from different places in the cities,  provinces around the Philippines and even from other countries.

 PULAI SPRING RESORT

One of the resort hotels in Johor Bahru, Malaysia that has an ancient Royal Malay experience with a tropical ambiance with its greenery landscape. The resort has its own 27-holes USGA standard golf course, recreational facilities, spa treatments and 2 outdoor pools.

view from 5th floor hallway
We arrive around 5 pm at the hotel. After we got our key card we go straight to fifth floor where are room is located and saw this nice overlooking view of sunset surrounding the resort.

Because of so much excitement to see the room and tour around the resort, we forgot to take photo of it :)

Click HERE : room tour video

We stayed in a 79 sqm two-bedroom suite room, 1 double bed and 2 single beds good for four persons. The suite room amenities has living room with a flat screen TV, dinning area with kitchenette but no microwave, mini bar,  bathrooms in each room, walk-in closet in masters room, some toiletries were provided and has balcony with a park-view.

And for our dinner we ordered pizzaaaa!
*plates, spoon and fork were not provided, instead we used cups and saucer :)

We decided to go down and tour around the resort and here are the photos of what they can offer.

Mini Garden

Recreational facilities: Billiard, Arcade and Spa
small store where you can buy some chips, drinks and desserts

The Next Day...
Catching an early sunrise
We had our breakfast with a nice ambiance of their outdoor pool at Cinta Terrace. Breakfast time start at 6:30 am till 11:00 am.
I will love to eat breakfast if this is the case
The food was good but they lack in variety. They have rack of different breads, egg, sausage, and few main dish which includes nasi lemak, chicken curry, kway teow, beef and veggies. For appetizer 2-3 kinds of fruits and some greens for salad. They also have cereals and pancakes for kids. Beverages, flavored juices, coffee and tea. And my most awaiting meal was some dessert, but never mind it was disappointing. For F & B service, i think they need to improve on it.

eye-bags overload!
Let's start to chill and beat the summer heat!
Summer stay-cation

Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them...
your smile, your hope, your courage and Love.
What's good about this resort hotel was great ambiance, quiet place, nice for a get-together or family reunion, very spacious rooms with kitchinette but lacking on amenities like cutlery, microwave; and pools with greenery view for a tropical and summer vibe.
Downside, front desk staff need to be more accommodating and approachable to it's guest, WiFi connection was poor, need a big improvement on variety of food to meet customers expectations, got a small shop but nothing much to see and buy, use of recreational facilities has additional fees.

Overall, for a five star resort hotel = average

Location: Jalan Pontian Lama, Johor bahru, Malaysia

Looking forward for more travels with my friends.

This time I decided to bring my family in town of Tiaong, Quezon and experience a Philippine heritage life at Hacienda Escudero.

BRIEF HISTORY

In 1872 a well known family in Quezon, Don Plácido Escudero and his wife, Doña Claudia Marasigan founded Villa Escudero Plantations. Originally a sugar cane plantation, the crop was converted to coconut by their son, Don Arsenio Escudero, in the early 1900s. He also built the country’s first working hydroelectric plant Labasin Dam to supply his desiccated coconut factory and the Escudero Plantation house, which he and his wife, Doña Rosario Adap, built in 1929.

According to our guide this is the house where the Escudero Family stay

In 1981, they open the plantation to public then became resort later on, offering carabao cart ride to the visitors going to the resort, a distinct al fresco dining, cultural shows, resort facility and other fun activities.

We arrived at Hacienda around 10am and straight ahead to the reception area. The staffs greeted us cheerfully and gave our welcome drinks. We avail their Day Tour which includes Carabao Cart Ride, Lunch, Musuem tour and some Activities

Day Tour Rates:

Mon - Wed = P1,450
Thur - Sun/PH = P1,600

getting ready for our hacienda experience!

First stop...

It's unusual but don't be deceived by the way it looks. It's either a pink church or a museum.

This unique museum contains antique collections of Escudero family from their travel either local or abroad. The assorted collections includes artifacts from World War II, religious relics and statues, Chinese porcelains, clothing from past centuries, armies and past presidents, antique furniture, and a lot more.

REMINDER: taking of photos inside the museum is prohibited

second stop...

All visitors had a privileged experience to ride a Carabao Cart while serenading by the local residents who's also working in the plantation. This will take you to the conference center, Labasin waterfalls and resort cottages.

third stop...
Lunch time at Labasin Waterfalls!

Lunch Buffet: Full of traditional Filipino dishes
A Man-made Al Fresco dining experience at the spillway of a hydroelectric dam

Full of local and foreign tourist even on weekday.

I really enjoyed having this quirky way of dining. The ambiance is very refreshing and relaxing, being dipped in a calf-deep water, seeing family gathered together,  children and even adults playing under the Labasin waterfall. For me Villa Escudero succeed on making its guest experience a Philippine heritage way of Life.

Good Authentic Filipino Food at the right place.
fourth stop...
Cultural Show

They will perform live music and cultural dances in the Philippines like pandango sa ilaw, tinikling (Philippine national dance), maglalatik (mock war dance), the kuratsa (dance of courtship), kappa malong - malong (muslim dance), singkil and a lot more.
Cultural show usually starts at 2pm - 3:15pm on Fri, Sat & Sun/PH

fifth stop...
Bamboo Rafting
peaceful scenic view of river

first time to do bamboo rafting and it was fun and something special

The whole hacienda escape I and my family had was really worth every cents. Highly recommended for a short nature and family getaway near Manila.

Moshi Manju's Freshly Baked Korean Cake is an affordable snack that will surely loved not only by kids but also people who are kids at heart.

Moshi means "hello" in japanese while Manju means "something sweet". In Japan, Manju is a popular traditional confection made of sweet bean paste buns. You may wonder why I am talking about Japan and not Korea since it was meant to be a korean cake. After my several search about this sweet cake like where did it came from, what is the origin of it and the meaning of it. I learned that it was really excisted from China and was called Mantou then it was called Manju when it came from Japan. Korean cake is known as "Tteok" which is made of glutinous flour or sweet rice with ingredients of sweet bean paste like in Japan.
