Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort, Quezon Province

by - April 07, 2017

This time I decided to bring my family in town of Tiaong, Quezon and experience a Philippine heritage life at Hacienda Escudero.

BRIEF HISTORY

In 1872 a well known family in Quezon, Don Plácido Escudero and his wife, Doña Claudia Marasigan founded Villa Escudero Plantations. Originally a sugar cane plantation, the crop was converted to coconut by their son, Don Arsenio Escudero, in the early 1900s. He also built the country’s first working hydroelectric plant Labasin Dam to supply his desiccated coconut factory and the Escudero Plantation house, which he and his wife, Doña Rosario Adap, built in 1929.

According to our guide this is the house where the Escudero Family stay

In 1981, they open the plantation to public then became resort later on, offering carabao cart ride to the visitors going to the resort, a distinct al fresco dining, cultural shows, resort facility and other fun activities.

We arrived at Hacienda around 10am and straight ahead to the reception area. The staffs greeted us cheerfully and gave our welcome drinks. We avail their Day Tour which includes Carabao Cart Ride, Lunch, Musuem tour and some Activities

Day Tour Rates:

Mon - Wed = P1,450
Thur - Sun/PH = P1,600

It's unusual but don't be deceived by the way it looks. It's either a pink church or a museum.

This unique museum contains antique collections of Escudero family from their travel either local or abroad. The assorted collections includes artifacts from World War II, religious relics and statues, Chinese porcelains, clothing from past centuries, armies and past presidents, antique furniture, and a lot more.

All visitors had a privileged experience to ride a Carabao Cart while serenading by the local residents who's also working in the plantation. This will take you to the conference center, Labasin waterfalls and resort cottages.

Lunch time at Labasin Waterfalls!

Lunch Buffet: Full of traditional Filipino dishes
A Man-made Al Fresco dining experience at the spillway of a hydroelectric dam

Full of local and foreign tourist even on weekday.

I really enjoyed having this quirky way of dining. The ambiance is very refreshing and relaxing, being dipped in a calf-deep water, seeing family gathered together,  children and even adults playing under the Labasin waterfall. For me Villa Escudero succeed on making its guest experience a Philippine heritage way of Life.

Good Authentic Filipino Food at the right place.
